Unit Advice

Nomads are best used in pairs - bound to number keys for safety (as these units consume fuel damn fast and, with many pairs out, losing them is way too easy). One builder with 500 fuel occupies one while the other holds the required iron for a base build, usually, for me,2000 iron and 500 fuel.

Planes are very fast units, best used for outmanouvering and harassing your enemy. They have relatively little firepower and are therefor best used in groups. They do however consume large amounts of fuel, so should never be left unattended in hostile territory. Planes are most vulnerable to aa tanks, defense cannons and frigates.

Hummingbirds (`birds`) are the light-weight version of the plane. They move equally fast, but consume far less fuel. Their firepower however is very low. They are best used as short to medium range scouts. Hummingbirds are also vulnerable to aa tanks, defense cannons and frigates.

Blimps are the most fuel efficient scouts that can be built in the game. Although they are very slow, they have an incredible range. They can circumnavigate the world on one fuel tank. Blimps have no weaponry.

Scouts are very useful in the begining of your game. They cost very little, consume little fuel and move fast. They however can only move over land and become obsolete once blimps and hummingbirds have been researched.

The Anti Aircraft tank (`AA`) is the only land unit capable of shooting down air units. It is an essential unit for base defense and protection of land units. Always use a combination of anti-land units (Harty, Arty, Tritank, Tank) and the AA tank wherever you go.

Heavy Artillery (`Harty`) is the most powerful unit in the game. It is slow and has a relatively low hull strength, but it is fuel efficient, has the longest range of any unit and also has the strongest gun. They are versatile, and can be used in different ways dependant on a players style of combat. It is however advised to use them in combination with other land units.

Artillery (`Arty`) Is a hybrid between a regular tank and the harty. It is more powerful than the Tank or Tritank, but fires more slowly and has less hull strength. As with any land unit they are best used in combination with other types of land unit.

Tanks are useful as a cheap defensive/offensive unit, especially early in the game. They become much less important with the completed research of Harty/Arty/Tritanks.

The Tritank is a very cost effective unit with reasonable speed, good hull strength and reasonable firepower. Although their range is somewhat limited, they are used as the mainstay of many land armies.

Hover Tanks are the only offensive land units that can move across land AND water. They are however lightly armoured and lack firepower.

Transports are useful units for setting up supply lines. they are also very useful as refueling units (can carry 1000 fuel) when on campaign away from your bases.
