Kill Scoring System
The major element that allows/encourages this is the status by asset approach of bp so far - with pure ownership of mines and units contributing to the score and standing. With the introduction of the overall rankings - we had an element of persistence involved for the first time with mines only being counted and some formulae involving the time you’ve held it being factored in.
In all honesty im not entirely sure and im thinking with this possible change we can reset that and start again.
My approach would involve counting assets in a smaller manner possibly but would mostly focus on kills!
For example- if this was to be enacted then a number of stats would need to be collected. These should imo be available for all to see after the game with a number used to determine current planet score, a smaller number to moderate your success with a reality check about how you achieved that high score, and a smaller number to go towards determining a number of positions per game such as most aggressive player medal and most units made etc.
Here are my initial thoughts on stats needed for manic stat festing and general nerdiness. Add you own additions. Which would count in game towards total and which for medals or just nerdy stat page funkiness will need further debate.
1/ kills vs online combat units counted - straight number of enemy/neutral combat vehicles killed (not turrets) whilst opponent online
2/ kills vs online non combat counted - All builder/transports etc killed whilst opponent online
3/ kills vs offline combat units counted - straight number of enemy/neutral combat vehicles killed (not turrets) whilst opponent offline
4/ kills vs offline non combat counted - All builder/transports etc killed whilst opponent offline
5/ building killed counted - all non defence structures bar walls.
6/ Defence buildings killed - number of turrets killed.
7/ Number of mines killed - both iron and oil.
8/ Player wipe outs achieved - any player with 15 or more combat units wiped gets counted.
9/ number of opponents engaged - number of opponents throughout game - excluding any with below 15 combat units
8/ mined iron total - total iron mined
9/ mined oil total - total net used oil
10/ Total iron mines
11/ Total oil mines
12/ Overall online time
13/ Total interactions - number of server orders sent by client throughout game
Offline attacks could either incur a points penalty of maybe 20% of normal score or achieve zero points in the harshest example.
An attack by a large player on a smaller player could incur a sliding scale penalty but not zero points imo. So an attack by a equivalent for now 50k empire on a 25k empire would incur a 50% points penalty and an attack by same big bugger on a 10k empire would incur a 80% penalty points wise.
