# NEW USERS, YOU WILL HAVE MORE FUN ****

# IF YOU READ THESE FIVE SHORT PAGES ****

The Planet you are on is very large, covered with islands, mountains, rivers, oceans, thousands of untapped resource deposits, and potentially hundreds of other players commanding armies on land, sea, and in the air. These discoveries, however, are only visible within the site ranges of your vehicles and property, so exploration is critical to the survival of your fledgling empire. Before exploring, however, you must understand the simple concepts outlined in the following pages.

BASIC INTERACTIVE CONTROLS

LMB (Left Mouse Button) - Select game elements (vehicles, buildings, buttons, etc.), drag to select multiple

RMB - Order currently selected elements to move, attack, or transfer resources to a target

MMB - Rotate camera (or use Shift+LMB)

Mouse Wheel - Zoom Camera (or use Shift+RMB)

Arrow Keys - Pan camera (or rollover screen edges)

Enter Key - Open Message Comm to other players

BoundlessPlanet? Help (Page 2 of 5)

Basic strategy in BoundlessPlanet? revolves around the mining and utilization of found natural resources. Buildings and vehicles cost Iron to construct, buildings must be powered by Power Plants, and Power Plants require Fuel, as do vehicles. When buildings are unpowered or vehicles run out of Fuel, they begin slowly taking damage.

Your first Command Center (which is one of the only buildings that does not require power) already contains a small amount of Iron and Fuel in storage, but because your vehicles will soon use up this stored Fuel and begin taking damage, one of the first critical steps you must take is to build an Oil Refinery on top of the black Oil Deposit coming out of the ground nearby using a Builder vehicle.

To follow along with the subsequent pages, feel free to close this window while trying out the concepts, and then return to it by clicking the "Help" button at the bottom of the screen.

To build an Oil Refinery on top of the Oil Deposit, click on the Builder, and then click on the Oil Refinery button in the Builder's option menu at the bottom of the screen (this menu changes depending on what is currently selected). As you move your cursor around the screen now, you will see a red square on the ground that only turns green when you rollover the Oil Deposit. Once it turns green, left-click again, and your Builder will drive over to the Oil Deposit and begin construction of the Oil Refinery.

When construction is complete, the Oil Refinery will start refining Oil into Fuel and then automatically store the fuel in the Command Center's storage. If no Command Center is nearby, the Fuel will be stored in the Oil Refinery itself.

Now, before building anything else, build an Iron Mine on the nearby Iron Deposit using the same steps so you don't run out of Iron.

BoundlessPlanet? Help (Page 4 of 5)

All construction projects require a nearby supply of Iron. For construction projects near your Command Center,
Builders will automatically draw Iron from the Command Center's storage. Construction projects far away
from your Command Center, however, need a supply of Iron transported to the construction site using a Transport
vehicle. When you select your Command Center, you can see a wide green circle around the surrounding landscape,
and this will tell you if you are close enough to use your Command Center's stored resources without having to
transfer them manually.

The area inside this wide green circle is called the Command Center Control Area, and building your first base inside this area has many advantages. Not only can you undergo construction without having to manually supply Iron to the Builder, but vehicles inside this green circle automatically refuel, and power from nearby Power Plants will automatically be distributed to the buildings throughout the area.

COMMAND CENTER CONTROL AREA EXAMPLE
An Iron Mine close to your Command Center will automatically transfer its mined Iron into your Command Center's Storage, construction of a nearby Factory will automatically use
500 Iron from the same storage, and a nearby Scout running low on Fuel will automatically draw Fuel from the same storage.

DISTANT CONSTRUCTION EXAMPLE
If you want to build a mine on an Iron deposit outside of the Command Center Control Area, load the necessary building supplies (Iron Mines cost 500 units of Iron) into a Transport vehicle (by selecting the Transport and then right-clicking on the Command Center), and then drive the loaded up Transport PLUS a Builder over to the distant Iron deposit.

FURTHER INFORMATION
Detailed information on any selected element or button rollover is displayed on the left side of your screen. Complete docs are available in the "Help" pages of www.BoundlessPlanet.com.
